金钱鱼科（学名：Scatophagidae），传统上为辐鳍鱼纲鲈形目的其中一个科，现为真鲈形系下目级地位未定的一科。

特征
[编辑]本科于体高，甚侧扁，被细小栉鳞，口小，前位，不能伸出，两颔牙呈带状。鼻孔两个，相距极近，眶前骨极宽大，鳃盖骨与峡部相连，鳃耙短而少，体被小栉鳞，侧线完全。背鳍1枚，硬棘与软条间具深缺刻，尾鳍截平或浅双凹形。
分类
[编辑]本科现已知是大眼鲷目的姐妹群，两者过去都被视为鲈形目的一部分，但现在已知它们都是与鲀形目及𩽾𩾌目更亲近的鱼类。

生态
[编辑]栖息于近海海水或半咸水的沙泥底质区域，属杂食性。
经济利用
[编辑]属于中小型食用鱼，适合清蒸，肉质普通。背鳍及臀鳍硬棘有毒，处理时须注意。
